In one week, students ages 8 – 12 will explore the captivating world of Shakespeare. By learning different performance techniques, the students will create an adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream that also highlights the importance of protecting the Earth’s ecosystems. Throughout the week, they will be designing and constructing a costume for their characters. This workshop will culminate in a short performance for family and friends at the end of the week!
The Spring Intensive will consist of two (2) classes:
Costume Design
In this workshop we will be using our imaginations and learning new skills to construct a costume! We will cover basic sewing machine skills and drawing. The costume you make will be used in the show at the end of the week.
Introduction to Performing Arts
Focused on basic acting techniques including corporal expression, use of the voice, building of characters, and development of self-confidence onstage. Activities offer participants the opportunity to experience theater artistry in a fun yet supportive environment, while preparing for the final showcase!
COST: $500 for the full week
Scholarships will be available!
