In-School STEAM Classes

Our inaugural STEAM (STEM + the Arts) classes kicked off in Spring of 2021. We partnered with Miami Beach Senior High School to reach approximately 50 students over the course of 26 classes.
Our primary focus was using these virtual classes led by 12 professional theatre technicians and educators to cover topics such as:

Light board programming

Computer-simulated 3D visualization

Computer-aided drafting for costumes, lighting, and sets

Sound design and engineering
Students involved in this program learned how technology assists the artistic design process as well as saw direct real-world applications for science, technology, and mathematics within a creative and inspiring environment. Participating classes were even able to take a virtual tour through a New York-based scenic company’s workshop, where they got a behind-the-scenes look at sets from Hamilton and other iconic Broadway productions.
