DeWitt Fleming Jr. is a world renowned Tap Dancer. He has toured the world as a featured tap dancer with Riverdance, Cirque Du Soliel, danced with Grammy award winning artist Wynton Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin, and was featured on the HBO Emmy Award winning show Boardwalk Empire. New York Times says he is a “non stop source of rhythmic variety and surprise….sparks seem to fly from those shoes!” Dewitt has taught all over the world and has choreographed for numerous productions. Prior to his role as Stepin’ Fetchit in Miami New Drama’s A Wonderful World, DeWitt played the lead role of Jelly Roll Morton in the National Black Theater Festival’s production of Jelly’s Last Jam, where he was the tap choreographer as well. Most recently DeWitt made history by releasing the first jazz album recorded live at Dizzy’s Club Jazz at Lincoln Center with tap dancing; Sax and Taps INTERSPLOSION! (Live at Dizzy’s Club).

DeWitt is also an actor, singer, and percussionist/drummer. Some of his favorite theater credits are Scottsboro Boys (Ozie/Ruby), Sophisticated Ladies (Lead), and Jesus Christ Superstar (Simon). As a percussionist, DeWitt has played on MTV, at the Legendary BlueNote NYC, and PlayStation Theater Times Square. DeWitt is the owner of the tap microphone company DeW It Right Tap Mics. It is the only company in the world dedicated specifically to creating microphones for tap dancing.
