Shana Tova U’metuka to all who celebrate Rosh Hashanah. As we close the curtain on the past year and open a new one, we reflect on how pivotal the past year has been for Jewish people around the world.

The horrific events of October 7th and the subsequent surge in antisemitism—both here in the United States and globally—have deeply shaken us at Miami New Drama. We feel a profound responsibility to address this crisis through our work.

The alarming rise in antisemitic sentiment, now openly expressed in various spaces including academic and cultural institutions, has created a climate of unprecedented vulnerability for Jewish communities.

In response to this disturbing trend, Miami New Drama has partnered with Wasserman Projects to launch The Y6K Project. This initiative is dedicated to exploring and amplifying Jewish narratives through groundbreaking theatrical productions. By commissioning new works, we aim to raise awareness of the contributions and challenges faced by Jewish communities. This year, we are proud to premiere Bad Dog and Birthright, two productions that will delve deeply into these critical themes.

With love,
