This inaugural Spring Break program will be an opportunity for young creators to be more hands-on in different aspects of a production. Throughout the week, they will be designing and constructing a costume for the characters they create, while also writing and performing their chosen stories. This will culminate in a short performance for family and friends at the end of the week! Scroll down for more info and registration.
The Spring Intensive will consist of two (2) classes:
Costume Design
In this workshop, we will be using our imaginations and learning new skills to construct a costume! From wardrobe to accessories to makeup, we will create unique characters while being immersed in the art of costume design. We will cover basic sewing machine skills and drawing. The costume you make will be used in the show at the end of the week. (10 am - 1 pm)
Introduction to Performing Arts
This class is focused on basic acting techniques including corporal expression, use of the voice, building of characters, and development of self-confidence onstage. Activities offer participants the opportunity to experience theater artistry in a fun yet supportive environment, while preparing for the final showcase! (2 pm - 5 pm)
